"We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. "

"My partner and I had the most incredible weekend at The Peacock Pod, and we honestly didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at home. "The property was a nice size and cute rustic build.We couldn't get warm however they heater provided wasn't very good luckily we had throws with us as there wasn't any provided for extra warmth. "My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. "Booked this fairly last minute for a bit of peace and quiet and good views and it did not disappoint! Place was spotless with everything you could need. Beautifully situated to give amazing views while also giving you quiet. Love my neighbours entertaining me - the wonderful animals on the property 😃 will definitely be back again ❤️"

"Really nice property with lovely views. Nice owner. The check in process was a bit difficult due to navigation issues as it is hard to find recommend using what 3 words app to help. Surrounding area is very quiet if you are looking for a quiet get away. Very clean area and property. However there is no wifi and the property was listed to have this and the gas fire did not come with any instructions so we could not use it, but there is a heated floor which is lovely. "

"This place hasn't been look after at all for years!When we arrived could only see massive stinging nettles and dumping area. The yurt was dirty, smelled of damp and mould. The towels were not provided as per webside offer and beds were uncomfortable and bedding didn't smell fresh at all. The lightning didn't work on a patio either. "The hotel is a little way from the city centre but is oh so worth it. The hotel is a former rum warehouse and it was great to see so many of the original features had been preserved. Room was very large and well furnished. Bar area had a good atmosphere, the restaurant menu had a good selection, I had the lamb pasta which was excellent. Highly recommend paying to use the spa, not too busy, very relaxing. "

Quiet, comfortable, excellent service.

"Very helpful and welcoming staff. I forgot to pack a toothbrush and a staff member kindly brought one to my room (thank you!). The only slight downside was hot items for breakfast could have been warmer. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented, but breakfast starts at 7.00am on a Saturday and at 7.05 bacon, eggs etc were only luke warm. Perhaps everything is being put out ready for service earlier than it needs to be on a Saturday?"

"This is our 2nd stay at this hotel. It is local for shopping entertainment and plenty of dining options. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size and linen of top quaility. It is very clean and decor is lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. "
