"The property is so close to the train station / ferry! We had a excellent stay, and it was great value for money. The only con is that there aren't any restaurants at walking distance. But we only stayed for a night, and highly recommend it!"

"Beautiful ryokan style rooms with lovely warm duvets on comfy futons. Within walking distance of the ferries. Our hosts were very gracious, with lots of suggestions for dining. Next trip I will definitely stay a couple of days at Surakaya."

"This place was amazing! We arrived early to the hotel as we had taken the ferry over early in the morning. They were able to store our bags for the day and placed them in our rooms when the room was ready. Someone was at the door of the hotel ready to greet you as you came in. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed in it. We unfortunately did not get to take advantage of the onsen, because we were exhausted after walking so much. The view from our room was amazing, looking out over the roof of the hotel and down on cherry trees, where both birds and deer gathered. At about six pm we had a knock on the door and two gentlemen came and made up our Japanese style beds for us. The only bad thing for us was that we only booked one night here. We would have stayed on the island much longer at at this hotel longer if we had the time."

"The sushi dinner was one of the best meals we've ever had. All of the staff were so accommodating. We were able to drop off our bags before check in and leave them after check out. We opted to leave our larger luggage in a coin locker at Miyajimaguchi and were very glad we did. As a family of 4 adults and 2 kids, we had full use of the two bedrooms and the bathroom (all upstairs). The steep, narrow stairs and the awkward entrance to the toilet were challenging for my elderly mother but she managed."

"Great and helpful service from staff on the front desk and a nice hotel in a great location for travel from Hiroshima. The hotel itself is very clean, modern, and well equipped. Would have loved a cold bath and sauna along with the onsen but realize you can't have everything you want. "
