"Great hostal"

"My room was a 4 person room which was decent overall. The pillows were small and not sufficient. The rooms a/c barely worked and the room had a damp / wet smell and feel the whole time. This is the perfect location in town if you want a party as they have stuff going on every night. The location is perfect for anything you would wanna do in town and the price was right for sure. "

I arrived at 12am and the manager on call was very kind to check me in. The room smelled of a melting pot of body odour though... I wish there was better ventilation and a window. "I always stay at the YHA Cairns Central because the location is so convenient, right opposite a large, air conditioned shopping centre, buses right outside the door and friendly service but I did find my room hugely over priced, (I stayed in a queen sized room with an ensuite)...$150 a night!! Great facilities, and service but found the price very disappointing; for that price I thought at least a hair dryer, little shampoos, etc and coffee and tea making facilities would have been included "

"Hi, Room was spacious and air-conditioned rooms. Location is so close to town and waterfront. Could use TLC in the grounds, been a tough few years. Pool was good. I would go back ,is heavily booked. "
