"The staff were brilliant. Friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The hotel would benefit from an overall refurbishment, carpets and paintwork look quite worn. When we arrived finding the entrance to the car park proved quite challenging, maybe some directions to it on the website would help. "We like this location because it is convenient and very walkable to restaurants, etc. The bath in our room had been renovated recently and was very nice. The staff is amazing one of the top reasons we stay there. "

"I wonder if this was a coaching inn back in the day as it's on the way into the city, but it's just outside the walls and on the end of Stane St, the Roman connection to the world eastwards.So it's an old rambling inn with many rooms in nooks and crannies. Our room was adequate, a twin as I booked late.It has a massive dining room downstairs to feed everyone, which it does in some style. We tasted the bangers and mash, with local sausages. "Disappointed in our overall presentation in our room. The hotel had very nicely upholstered furniture but the sofa in our room was unsuitable and quite tatty. It felt unfinished. We couldn't rely on an evening meal bring available as the hotel cater for outside functions. We have stayed here before and our experience then was better than this stay. The hotels position for touring is ideal"

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a family lunch for my Mums 93rd birthday and everyone was so helpful and obliging. The only downside for us was the street noise early in the morning. When we stay again we will be requesting a room at the back of the hotel. We struck lucky in that the group Hot Fuzz were playing on the Saturday night and they were excellent."

"Nice pub with room. Food was excellent and staff for very friendly. Room ok ,overlooking the rear of the pub, however although bathroom quite big the sink was very small like an ensuite type .Not a major issue just annoying getting splashed when try to wash hands ect"

"It was disappointing to find the pub had been notified that our stay and others we were with had been cancelled? Luckily as we all arrived for a wedding nearby rooms were still available. Staff were very friendly hoping to make our stay a goodcone. "

"If you like a 400-year-old English Country Pub this site is for you as it was for us. We loved the quaint atmosphere and the cheerful staff. Food was traditional fare and well presented. Parking was close to accommodation."

"We had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially James. The food was lovely, plenty of choice and well cooked. Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. The location is perfect for visiting the Castle Cathedral and the town. Brilliant that it has it's own car park. Only slight down point is the decor is a little tired in places and could do with a refresh. "

"When we arrived we were shown to our room our bags were taken upstairs for us which I thought was very nice, the room was nicely decorated, comfy beds and pillows our bathroom was very nice and spacious, we had a cooked breakfast which was cooked to perfection plenty of tea and coffee, I would definitely stay here again ⭐"

"Lovely relaxing holiday. Beautiful scenery. Had an amazing time. Only suggestion would be to have black curtains in the bedrooms and not blinds. "

"Return visit to Sea Vale as a lovely house you feel immediately at home in with everything you need. All you have to do is arrive and enjoy! Wine left to welcome us a much appreciated gesture and already thinking about planning our visit next year. Great location right on the beach with plenty to keep everyone happy by the beach and exploring the surrounding area. "
