Spanish charming quirkiness
If you are looking for a quiet, out of the way place to relax or use as a base for exploring, then Sa Nau is an ideal place. If you are also looking for the trappings of a 4 or 5 star hotel you may be disappointed.
The property consists of a line of “terraced” apartments (units is a better word). Surrounded by olive, fig and lemon groves with bougainvillea growing up and over the front porch.
The immediate impression on entering is of an office or industrial unit. The floor looked like gray polished concrete, lacking the usual Spanish coloured floor tiles. The unit is divided into four sections: a lounge with sofa and TV, a kitchen, ours had two ring hob, Nespresso, fridge, dishwashers and toaster that required careful handling. A bedroom area with a bathroom section that was positioned behind the kitchen area.
If you were going to self cater the lack of a microwave might be a problem. The very firm oversized bed from the head end looked straight into the bathroom and toilet. The kitchen units were fronted with functional marine ply.
Through the back door was an open vista with pool, plenty of sun loungers and parasols. The rear was overlooked from the road to the golf club. The occasional thwack of golf balls being driven down the 11 fairway was one of the few sounds to be heard
Our daytime host was Guillem who was charming and helpful both with directions to the property and during our stay.
A pleasant stay that had charm but lacked some final touches.
