"This hotel is clean and comfortable but not luxurious. The staff are friendly and helpful, most of them speak English. The bedroom was quite spacious, the bed comfortable and very clean, as was the shower room with plenty of hot water. The room did not have a fridge or a safe. Breakfast was a buffet. There was no hot food but plenty of choice of cold cuts, cheese, cereals, bread etc. It is quiet with nice views of Sintra and the surrounding villages."

"Room was bright, clean and well put together, but property the lacked a common indoor area, so we were cooked up in our room as it was drizzling throughout our stay. Property is located in a historical zone with vehicle restrictions meant short walk up hill on partial dirt road dragging our luggage to unrestricted area. Check in was via WhatsApp instructions. "I booked this because I thought it was cute but the pictures don't do it justice. I had stayed at a 5 star hotel during my stay in Portugal and I enjoyed this adorable Chalet just as much. The property had so much character and charm and I absolutely loved our room. It was very clean and well decorated. I just loved everything about this stay. Wish I could have stayed longer than one night. Will return someday and stay longer. "

"We loved our stay at the Storytellers Villas. The accommodation was beautiful. We had everything we needed. Diogo and the housekeeper were very welcoming and always available to answer any questions and offer suggestions. "The property itself was very cosy, comfortable and quaint. It is a guest house with large, shared kitchen area. The area it is located in has limited opportunities for buying groceries for those without a car. There is a wonderful restaurant, Caricato, within walking distance but you need to book! We enjoyed our stay here!"

"Our room was fairly small and not luxurious, but it was very clean and totally adequate for us. The location is great. Very close to the National Palace and historic center of Sintra and easy walking distance to the Quinta da Regaleira. Lots of restaurants and shops very nearby. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. No complaints and I would recommend it. "

"Wonderful location in the heart of Sintra with easy access to the trail to the Castle and Palace. The room was one of the nicest we stayed in during our trip to Portugal. Perfect! We Uber'd and would not recommend bringing a rental car to Sintra. "

"The hotel is wonderful. Our view was spectacular and the staff were all lovely and most helpful! It was a little chilly for us to use the patio, but it was still nice to sit in those comfortable chairs and view the water. The room and bathroom were very small though, since my husband and I each had a medium sized suitcase. We made do though. "Beautiful room and service from Regina on front desk was lovely. Food in restaurant delish although pricey and not ideal having it run as a separate business to hotel. Shame that terrace wasn’t fully open for hotel guests when restaurant was in service, especially when hotel has very limited other facilities and areas to chill. "This hotel is basically a hostel and was just ok. The room we booked was on the third level and there was no air conditioning and it was very very hot. It was a short walk to our "guest house" along cobble stone streets but finding the check in counter at another location was difficult for our driver. Room was very bare bones but ok in cleanliness. "We stayed for 3 nights, the property itself is cozy, with a good use of space, however, access to the bedding area may be limited to able-bodied folks. We were given plenty privacy with access to the barbeque and private garden area. If we're ever in the area again, we'd absolutely stay here again."

"Absolutely the most beautiful view of the ocean and especially the sunset at the end of the day. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and up to date. The game room provided entertainment for everyone with a pool table, table tennis, foosball, checkers, chess, and many game boards. We are a family of 6 adults and a toddler and everyone had a wonderful week in Ericeira. "

Affordable hotel on outskirts of Sintra

"We had an amazing stay at this hotel. We arrived super early to see if we could have luggage storage but surprised to be able to check in early so big bonus and thanks. Walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Bus stop within 2 minutes of hotel (we had a car so didn’t use but considered taking into Sintra to avoid hunting for parking). They do offer breakfast (we didn’t use) and have a bar/restaurant available. The only negative was they didn’t have a small fridge or microwave in room but reception did heat some items for me that I bought from a local grocery. Staff very helpful and friendly. Free parking up top and if full can pay 3 euro to use underneath parking. Easy access to highway to see the sites we visited! Would stay here again. "
