"I read a lot of negative reviews about this resort but it was not our experience at all. Whereas the beach water isn’t turquoise blue and the rooms are a little dated, our overall experience was great. If you’re not travelling to an all inclusive to stay in your room, the outdated rooms won’t bother you. There is constant entertainment running everywhere you go: from the beach, to the pool, to the lobby. The staff are very friendly. There are always people cleaning. There are food options almost around the clock so you never go hungry. The food options were plentiful. We travelled with 3 teens who spent most of their time playing beach volleyball, and they had a blast. We had an issue with our in room safe and the staff was there before we walked back to our room from the lobby. They are very hard working. The only change I would make would be to fly into La Romana if possible since it made for a long day travelling into Punta Cana airport, but that was an oversight on our part. I’ve been to about a dozen all inclusives before. This is one I would return to. This is also the first one I write a review for since I find the lower ratings of it undeserving. The resort works hard to satisfy its customers. "

"Beautiful beach. The room was spacious but towels in room were old and there were no facecloths. The air conditioner leaked, but they sent someone to fix it right away. The staff were courteous and friendly. There was a very relaxing vibe. Buffet had a variety of food to choose from for all 3 meals. A La carte Mexican Restaurant was very good. "

"The Playa Nueva Romana is excellent in every respect. The host, Linette, was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the stay. I commend her good communication skills and though fullness. She kept in touch on daily basis to make sure we have everything that we needed at the residence. Kudos to her and her rental team."

"When we got there, a staff member offered to show us around and wanted us to leave our bags in an unattended area where there were construction workers around. My husband told him that he didn’t want to leave our personal belongings there so he assumed that we had a fire arm in our luggage. He warned us that fire arms weren’t permitted, that there were cameras everywhere and that the owner was on the property. He was very suspicious of us and didn’t let up until I offered to let him search one of our bags. That was very unpleasant for us. The prices at the restaurant are excessively high and some of the portions are very small. Also, there was no hot water in the room bathroom. We let the staff know but nothing was done. Finally, the ambiance music is horrible and doesn’t feel like you’re in a tropical country. I do want to give a shoutout to Kelvin. He was very nice and took very good care of us. However, we will not be returning to this hotel."
