"What a great find. The downstairs of the hotel has been upgraded and was cost, tasteful, excellent service from friendly staff. We had the 6 course tasting menu for dinner which surpassed all expectations. The restaurant for Sara by Sanjay was beautifully decorated and each course was sublime. Service was exceptional and overall atmosphere really lovely. Hotel in process of upgrading bedrooms and will all be lovely when complete. We will be back - brilliant stay and would definitely recommend. "

"A great country inn. Exactly what I was looking for. Staff is friendly and helpful. I was treated to a local Scottish folk song jam session in the bar since I landed there on their regular meeting night. Very welcoming crowd. Great fun! It’s a country inn, not a hotel, but it’s perfect accommodations if you’re traveling by car. Close to Stirling Castle, Wallace monument and other sites of interest. "

"We stayed here as it was on a list I had for locations to stay. Easy to get to the Loch Lomond area and a short jump to Stirling or Glasgow. The rooms were clean, the staff were wonderful, and we enjoyed the bar and the conversation with some local folks. Spar just across the street. This is a nice place, and I'd stay here again."

"This hotel has closed down and hasn’t notified Expedia or any other agent and is still taking bookings on their own website directly. Expedia gave me shocking customer service when I raised this with them. I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get them to believe me. Total disaster. Avoid Expedia at all costs. "
