"My family and I absolutely loved this B & B. Everything was done to a high standard, the staff were amazing and great with my two little ones. The food they do as well was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay, just outside of Edinburgh. Carly, the owner is so lovely and friendly too. I honestly can't recommend this place enough! "Our team had a very enjoyable stay whilst working nearby. The host was a fountain of knowledge who could not have done more for us. One of the party was injured and our host went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable. "The owners went out of there way to make you feel welcome and the facilities were the best value for money we obtained whilst walking the Border Abbeys Way. Janet even offered to drive us into Kelso rather than having to get a taxi which, I feel, is above and beyond the call of duty."

"Lovely warm house in a beautiful setting. Could do with a bit of updating. For example, the toaster didn’t work and the beds and pillows were quite lumpy. On the whole though, we had a wonderful time and would go back."

"Old Kirkstead is a really nice spot which was enjoyed by kids and parents alike. We'd never been to this part of Scotland before but we'll be back for longer in the summer having only had three nights this time round. Hilary (the host) couldn't have been more helpful after we managed to completely mess up the booking too!"
