"Lovely hotel, had a nice weekend. Room was spacious and comfortable. Shower powerful. Beds comfy. Was surprised there was no fridge or toiletries, only a wall pump shampoo. Walls are paper thin, thankfully other guests mostly considerate but could even hear noses being blown from next door! Food at brasserie was hit and miss, and the shoutng from the kitchen was odd and unpleasent. As another table commented, it was like being in McDonalds... "Good sized room with safe, hairdryer , tea and coffee making, robes and slippers. Enjoyed the spa after a good walk. Quality breakfast. My only negative was the bed was too hard so I didn't sleep well. My friends in other rooms found beds ok so personal experience. There are some electric car charging facilities in the car park. "

"The car park took some finding and was locked after 5pm. Rooms are reasonably comfortable and kept clean but ready for some updating. Staff are OK but not very smiley or friendly. Good location in the city centre. The food is ok. Typical 3 star hotel. Some nice architectural features inside. "

"Beautiful stay. Great location, beds comfy and breakfast is great. All the staff are really nice and hard working too. Only downside is the noise from other guests either walking around their rooms, banging doors or snoring next door. "

"Erika's cottage was clean, well equipped and in a quiet location. The view of Blencathra from the back of the cottage is beautiful and we loved seeing the red squirrels who were daily visitors. We didn't meet our hosts so can't comment on them but the emails via VRBO were adequate and we found our way in and around easily. The extra information about the area was very welcome. My only comment about our arrival is that the cottage was extremely cold and it took a while for it to warm up. The...
