Preliminary walk around and checks found there was no fire alarms, fire blanket and no Welcome pack or inventory list of what to expect or where to go for emergency planning. "We had a lovely stay. The house had everything we needed. Good location with easy parking. The owner was there on arrival and showed us around, which was very helpful! The only thing which wasn't clear on the listing (I also looked on other sites) was that the garden is not fully fenced and with a river at the bottom of the garden, children would need to be supervised at all times. I would recommend this place. The hot tub was great!"

"The place was cute, and the neighbor was very kind, he came out to talk to us when we were trying to figure out parking the first night. The drive isn’t big enough for any car larger than a Mini, but there’s ample space for parking on the curb. The only real downside was the amount of bugs within the property. "8 of us came here to celebrate a joint birthday over a long weekend. The house was gorgeous, clean,spacious, beautiful surroundings and of course the amazing hot tub! Not criticism but helpful to know if you're planning a visit- take extra towels with you. They do provide towels and bathrobes but no washing machine facility, so after a hot tub dip you have to use the same towel the next morning. "We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Hillcrest cottage. It is exactly as shown in the listing. We loved the hot tub and sitting around the fire outside on the terrace watching the stars! Although it seems quite isolated it is less than half an hour’s stroll from Dunston and a few minutes further to Metheringham. The cottage and the views were stunning and we would highly recommend!"

"The property was great and in a nice village. Local cafe at Manor House Farm is worth a visit as is the nearest pub Hare & Hounds. We visited Lincolnshire City centre which was lovely, the castle, cathedral and historic prison were all in walking distance once parked up in centre. We also visited a National trust Old Workhouse which was very interesting. Lots of things to do in Lincolnshire and well worth a visit."

"Stayed here for my hen weekend and it was amazing! All the rooms were lovely decorated and so clean. The whole group of us really enjoyed it and loved finishing our nights off with a dip in the big hot tub. The weekend was so luxurious we didn’t feel the need to go anywhere. Everyone said they would definitely go back, whether it be another party weekend or chilled one with the family, would suit all needs. So well equipped and so clean. Loved it!"
