"This lodge is a hidden gem. The food at the restaurant was a little hit and miss, but everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Greivin went out of his way to help in any way he could and he also leads the excellent Quetzal tours every morning!! Great stay!!"

"You can easily walk to some local trails and other hotel restaurants. This hotel was a gem! We loved our room, the walls are a little thin but we only shared with one neighbor. Beds were very comfy and had lots of pillows and wall plugs. Staff were pretty friendly, our only “poor” interaction was when we showed up at 8:30 am after a morning hike and were told the breakfast ends at 9 am and made a little fuss over us arriving at 8:30. "Staying here for 2 days was the best part of our trip to Costa Rica! We were treated like family! Albert Alonso the owner is a wonderful chef and he makes everything himself. From bread to pizza, pies and everything in between. He also went over and beyond and called around to find a personal guide to show us around the area that was honest and trustworthy. "The service was awesome, the place has so many beautiful flowers and plants its a very happy place. The room i stayed in was a disappointment, no air circulation (no fan nor AC). The temperature outside was nice and cool, but the room does not have good circulation. No blackout curtains, so you wake up early, if you want to or not."

"Met dank om ons oordeel te vragen. Dit hotel is reeds gesloten sinds november 2018. google maps bracht ons ter plastse. Daar stonden we om 17u. Voor een grote gesloten poort. Niemand ter plekke. Het bijgevoegd telefoonnummer werkt niet Wij zijn toen begonnen met het zoeken van andere ingang. In de omgeving was niemand die ook maar gehoord had van dit hotel. Alle mensen waren extreen behulpzaam. Om 9u. 's avonds terug op internet gezocht en daar stond een ander hotel nl eco villas...

"A lovely house between Orosi and Paraiso, overlooking the Orosi Valley. Not far outside Paraiso--Waze took us right there. The house is beautiful and comfortable and very well appointed and supplied. The owner is only onsite part of the time, but is promptly available via WhatsApp. Her onsite assistant doesn't speak English, but we did fine with a little bit of Spanish and WhatsApp with the owner who speaks excellent English. We want to return to Casa Bartzis on a future trip--it's a winner!"
