I was atop Mt. Chopok, in the Low Tatras Mountains. Chopok is at 2,024 m (6,640 ft) and is the 3rd highest peak of the Low Tatra Range. The views were truly breathtaking from there! Including the meteorological observatory tower covered in snow. But, most of my time in Slovakia was in the High Tatras. The mountains there are even bigger and more epic. I was based in the small city of Poprad and took trips every day. I was in Slovakia in September 2015, too. But this was my 1st time in winter! And with a good camera ;). I also had a wonderful time in Budapest, as well! My very 1st time there. But, while I spent most of my time in the High Tatras I loved being in the Low Tatras! The mountains were absolutely magnificent! And I came to Chopok at a perfect time of day :).

"We stayed at the standard room with breakfast + dinner option. The dinner was disappointing. The breakfast was ok but if you get a chance, stay next door, at the hotel Posta. It’s much better. The bed wasn’t very comfortable. We didn’t go to the spa as it seemed very busy and the spa area smelt of chlorine a lot. The hotel was very busy as it was a peak season. "It's one of the best hotels accessible from zilina. The room is spacious and nice, but not soundproofed. Sounds of conversation and movement in the room next door can be felt as vibrations. The bed is old and the mattress is not level, so it is tilted or sagged. There is no free water provided in the room, so be sure to prepare it in advance. The minibar is also empty."

Lovely hotel conveniently located

"Lovely hotel about 5mins to a shopping centre and just a bit further to the main shopping area which has the train station at the end of the street. The double room we had was very clean which was serviced every day and the bathroom had a hairdryer. There was also slippers and bathrobe. There is a kettle and bottled water in the room but there was only 2 tea bags (Herbal & Green Teas) and sugar. If you want other types of tea and Coffee and/or milk, I would advise you take your own. There is a fridge filled with all sorts which you have to pay for but it would be ok to keep your milk in. Breakfast has plenty of choice both hot and cold and there is a hot drinks machine to serve yourself. I would certainly stay there again if I were to visit Zilina."

"A fantastic hotel in Zakopane. Very spacious room with a comfortable bed and well equipped amenities. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were all so helpful. As we were there in the shoulder season, the upper floor area sitting area wasn't fully functional, but offered amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Would highly recommend this property to anyone considering this gem of a mountain town."

"I already wrote one review, but because I added two more nights to my stay to really relax in the spa (and you should too) I used their 10 percent off gift to try an incredible package with a bath in an amazing color light bubble tub wand then a chocolate massage by Klaudiusz. Once again, it’s the people that make all the difference! He truly went out of his way to meet my needs of a weary traveler and designed the service just for me. I’m so grateful. I can tell he puts his heart and soul into taking care of people. I hope to bring my family back next year around Christmas. 🎄 But ask for the balcony rooms with the views. I had a little view of the mountains and it was priceless for me. Thank you again Klaudiusz. You made my trip here the best! Can’t wait to come back. My husband will love it!"
