The room was full of insects, furniture falling apart, we had a lamp with no electric cable attached, it looked like the rooms had been added to the building at a later date and work was still going on. "This place has an awesome pool and good, clean rooms. The location is a short tuk tuk ride from Main St. but otherwise close to... not much. Not that there's much to be close to in Tissa. This hotel is a great base for safaris since you have a sweet pool to go back to after or before. The hotel restaurant is generally very good, so eat here. "Our host was exemplary in showing us the local area. We had a deeply moving experience at both Kataragama and Tissamaharama. Pradath is an excellent resource for All things Sri Lanka. The accommodations are first rate. Big comfortable bed. Modern shower and tub. A/C and Wi-fi work great. Excellent meals prepared. It is the perfect spot to retreat in the evening. We heartily recommend it and will hopefully return. "

"First, this is not a 4 star hotel not even closed to a motel. Even its name is not Lake Wind Hotel but Lake Wind Resort. There is no services whatsoever, and room is at horrible condition. Can’t believe I paid $100 usd for this crap. Checked out the pics with direct water and half dead cockroach in our room. Thank you hotels.com for listing this as a 4 star - I won’t trust your filter anymore. This is the worth place among all my stays in 4/5 hotels in Sri Lanka. Avoid at all costs!!!"

"Had trouble at first with staff saying booking didnt go through so had to contact hotels via X to sort out. The one staff was a great guy, so freindly and helpful, i was in the area to visit national park and he arranged this for me. Only problem with hotel is internet did not work, and no phone reception in that area either. "
