"this was a brief snow holiday to the Sierre Chevallier area. The Auberge de Violaine is a 5 minute walk from the Monnetier lift base. Its a quiet well presented small hotel / large guesthouse. Food was great, just what you need after a day on the hill rooms were tidy and clean beds were wonderful"

"We booked this hotel for it supposed good restaurant only to be told it was shut as chef was away,so we eat in a pizza takeaway. The bar is a tiny room in the basement with three chairs,it was suggested that we have a drink outside which was even less appealing with two chairs a dead tree and dog muck. "One night there. Receptionist was good. A woman very nice. Also next morning the gentleman servicing breakfast too. The not so good is the swimming pool that room was not warm and water not so hot especially when outside was snowing. The dinner was the other thing.
