"We stayed at the monastery on two occasions. The room we had on our first stay had a stained and dirty carpet. We asked for it to be vacuumed and they did that, but they would be far better off, tearing up the carpet to expose the wood underneath, which I expect is beautiful. On our second stay the room was clean and had none of those issues. It’s a beautiful place with very cool old furniture. The place has lots of character and is steeped in history. It felt very special to stay there."

"The good part… the bed, linens, television was new, big, good signal. Central location on a busy corner. Internal sliders successfully block the street noise. Ceiling fan. The bad.. breakfast should be included. The worst. The pizzeria that opens into the courtyard is used for parties. This means loud, live , amplified music. So loud that you cannot watch the television and certainly cannot sleep. I stayed for more than a week. I will be returning to Popayan but I will never again stay at La...
