"This is a lovely hotel. It is set in a stunning location, with views from the conservatory across the lake. The hotel is beautiful inside, with lovely dining areas serving excellent food, friendly and helpful staff, a lovely spa and swimming pool, and nicely decorated bedrooms. The hotel is also dog-friendly. The Windermere cruises depart from outside the hotel, and it is also a short walk across the car park to the Lakeside Aquarium and Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway."

Bad things - £25 per day for parking in their own car park 5min walk away feels like a rip off. -Over sensitive fire alarm system meaning 1 alarm going off per day of our stay. "Overall it was a pleasant stay, the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Great location. Unfortunately no dinner service was available on the evening I arrived although I had requested this on my booking I wasn't informed until I arrived at the hotel. I wasn't particularly impressed at having to pay for parking and the berries at breakfast were still frozen! Other than than it was a really lovely stay, very dog friendly. "

"An average guest house. Friendly staff and comfortable bed. I felt more could be done to reduce waste. For example using glasses instead of plastic cups in room; using shampoo and shower gel dispensers; using small dishes of marmalade and butter, weetabix in a large container rather than individual plastic wraps. Breakfast was ok though cooking of black pudding was poor and the bread could have been nicer. A bit noisy from room next door, you could hear the neighbours talking. "

"This was our second stay and it didn't disappoint. The only issue was on arrival with there being feather bedding in the room which we'd spectacled to be removed prior to arrival. However as soon as I mentioned it , it was resolved and non feather replacements were in place immediately. Service at breakfast and check in was excellent as was the super fresh breakfasts. "Awesome spot for hiking central or exploring surrounding points of interest. Far from the madding crowd - in winter at least! Great atmosphere! Dog friendly ❤️ Breakfast a bit so so buffet style but maybe because of season and cold plates - because of season. Will be back "

"Good hotel but unfortunately there is a lot of work being do it, the staff are very friendly and hard working the let down is the pool is not in use as they are working on it, not the hotels fault but Hotels.com could have been more informative it was only when I read a review about the pool then went back their website there is a line through pool but it is very faint apart that the food was good and will back when the work is done."

"Lovely rooms. Nice spacious modern shower. Reasonably priced. Access to parking is tricky in a big vehicle, but plenty of room on street if you don't mind a few steps. Great location (less than 5 minutes from Bowness.) Would definitely return."

Great hotel

"We stayed for two nights, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice with everything that you could need, great tea tray, lovely toiletries etc. very comfortable bed, good lighting and a nice hot shower. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Plenty of parking too and in a great location for walking to both Bowness and Windermere. We would definitely stay here again. The only negative issue was a thoughtless guest on our final night who played the TV very loudly and had no regard for other guests."
