"We ßrrived later than expected due to traffic issues on the motorway,however the staff were great,very helpful and supportive of our situation.Made us feel very welcome.Lovely room and we enjoyed the vibe in the restaurant."

"Really welcoming reception and friendly staff. The room was clean with good facilities and a really comfy bed! Evening meal in the bar was excellent. Full English breakfast cooked to order was also great. Highly recommend staying here."

"The staff at the Boot and Shoe were lovely - they were friendly and helpful during our stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. The staff were really apologetic and gave us a complimentary round of drinks to make up for this. The room itself was fine. The bed was ok and the room was clean. "Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "

"Horrendous journey to the Fox and Pheasant. Worried we would miss the dinner cut off time we called through. Been traveling for over 10 hours! No problem arrive very tied to a lovely bowl of soup. "Arrived about 4.30, had not noticed when booking that there was no car parking, nor was there any available outside. We tried to gain admittance to ask for advice on where to park but noonecwas around despite the fact that the website claims that the desk is open all day 7.30am to 11.00pm. We finally gave up and stayed elsewhere. "

"We stayed 1 night. Our studio--sitting room, large bathroom, and bedroom--was very spacious with many amenities: coffee/water/materials for eating in. Well appointed--comfortable mattress, beautiful bedding, great bathroom--comfortable couch and small table for eating. Excellent value. More than 1 venue for food--different styles. We only sampled breakfast--the granola parfait was perfect. "

"Julie's garden cottage is a delight. Beautiful peaceful location and lots of amenities just a short drive away. Julie's little touches of milk in the fridge and biscuits for hungry children always on the hunt for snacks was very thoughtful. :-) "

"I spent a week at Cumbria Park at a difficult family time. I was made part of the family by everyone, which made it easier to cope! I can’t thank everyone enough for their interest and support. It was such a shame they had to stop the evening meals and I hope these will soon be reinstated. My best wishes to the fabulous team! Anne"
