"What a find! I booked at the very last minute - literally an hour or so before arrival - and feel I was very lucky to have chosen The Vale. The welcome was warm and friendly, the people are lovely, the room was a bijou but beautiful single (I was travelling as a lone lady with her dog) and spotlessly clean. The food is an interesting fusion of Indian and Kenyan (with standard fare on the menu too) and it was absolutely delicious. All cooked freshly from scratch on the premises. Cricklade is a lovely place - very friendly - and on the Thames Path. I walked downstream to Castle Eaton, had lunch in the pub there, and walked back - that's about 9 miles in total. There's another village upstream with a pub that's about the same distance, so two nice but not taxing day's walks are easy to do. The Vale is a real gem - a genuinely friendly, welcoming place where everyone talks to everyone else, and they love dogs too. I hope to be back. "

"Brilliant!! We had a lovely time staying here with my family on our Easter Holiday. Breakfast was nice and fresh. The outdoor park was also a bonus for my young child to play. Good location to go to Cotsworld and Legoland Windsors. "
