"Although we were aware that the hotel was closing we still expected 4 star accommodation as that is what we paid for. The pool and terrace area were in a very bad state of disrepair and the pool area unusable. We asked for an upgrade to a sea view as there road works at the front of the building and therefore noisy but were told ( 6 hrs after asking and having to ask again)that no rooms were available although the hotel was clearly far from busy. "Rooms were fantastic. Very roomy. Lovely harbor or bay views, breakfast was amazing, deck on South sise warm and sunny. In a ship harbor with tons of different restaurant options. Quick walk to old town. A great unique experience. "

"Lovely hotel surrounded by a nice garden. Many seating areas to relax and have a drink, chat or play a game. (Early) check in was easy. Breakfast buffet was well stocked with many choices. Initially we got a key to a standard (poolside) room which was outdated. Highly recommend upgrading as our main building room was very nice. Personally I liked the historical look of the hotel with marble stairs, wooden floors and wrought iron."

"We like everything about the hotel and the city - the carnival burlesque and brightness of the carnival in the downtown and the quietness of the neighbourhood. The only regret is that we didn’t have enough time to enjoy the ocean and explore the surrounding towns. "
