While the property is very far from being an "all singing all dancing" modern hotel (no elevator for example); it has buckets of charm and is situated in an excellent location. "I booked at the last minute via Expedia and selected the breakfast option. Slightly cheaper than the "official" Greene King site. Fantastic greeting by staff - the checking in procedure was very slick. The room was clean (two single beds - I only needed one). Bathroom had recently been refurbished. "Nice quiet location - lovely comfortable and plush communal lounge with roaring fire. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Dinner and breakfast top notch with an excellent range of choice. A definite go back to hotel. Only gripe was no lift."
