"Room was fine. Only thing I had an issue with was the heating turning itself on. I didn't want the heating on due to it triggering my asthma. Found a way to turn it off though eventually so all was good! It would have been better if there was controllable air conditioning as I was a little concerned from a safety point of view sleeping with the window open as a lone female on the ground floor. "

"Nice spacious room, clean, with a good shower. Decent size TV. Breakfast ,lots of different options but hot options were not refilled enough to keep all topped up. Coffee machine was not good and was serving luke warm beverages. "

"Very good stay in a comfortable hotel. Service was great. Couple of things - I felt the dinner menu could be a little more extensive, the check out time of 10 am is a little early. But generally a great stay. Ps I should have mentioned this at check out but the sink plug in room 102 sticks closed 😎"

"Large building hidden atop of hill at the end of a cul den sac with fantastic views looking at onto the ocean as you walk out of the reception. A quick walk up the steps outside the front of the hotel and you can see for miles out on the sea front. Hotel itself well looked not a 4 or 5 star but good if your on a budget the rooms are basic but clean. The bar restaurant area is probably the best most up-to-date modern part of the hotel. Well stocked bar and I didn't eat any of the set menu but...

"Rating based entirely on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the fantastic spa facilities. There was work going on while we were there which was a minor inconvenience but the room we stayed in was the real let down. Dated and uncared for. The bathroom was poorly finished and the shower was not the cleanest. The flooring was lifting and squishy in places and the room itself smelt of damp. "The room was simple but clean with a view across the Exe valley. I liked that the heating stayed on until late evening, the hot water was reliable and the shower did not fluctuate between hot and cold. Also, the proprietors were generous and flexible with breakfast. The hotel is close to Exeter's two principal railway stations and about 15 mins walk from the town centre. Minor complaints - some of the lightbulbs were too dim and the toilet seat shifted around."
