A few things that would improve overall visit- the green emergency light above the bedroom door casts light into the room all night and really impacts sleep for people who need a dark room? It was rather like having a nightlight you could not switch off. Would also be nice to have more than one towel and a mirror in the bedroom to dry hair. Comfortable bed but I didn’t sleep well due to the light issue unfortunately "

"We received a call the day before so that the host knew what time we would be arriving, and she was looking out for us on our arrival. The room was bright and clean with plenty of storage. Breakfast was nice too and served quickly. We only stayed a night to attend a family barbecue, but would have been happy to stay longer. "

"A most enjoyable, peaceful, one night stay, wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the grounds. We were in one of the oldest, original, parts of the house, but everything was tastefully up to date and very clean. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly."

"We stayed here for two nights while attending a service at the church. The owners are charming and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was adequate for the two nights, we found it difficult to maintain the heat balance in the room and it was fairly chilly in the pub , the good food and atmosphere made up for this. "We just got home from our stay at Lancaster Cottage and compelled to write a review as it was just lovely. In a beautiful location albeit we did not pick the best weather, Sarah could not have been a lovelier host. I had injured my shoulder and somehow got a chest infection before travelling and she made sure she kept my ice pack frozen for me. Nothing was too much trouble.
