"This property is absolutely gorgeous! The grounds are beautifully maintained and the surrounding area is perfect for a little walking through the jungle and beyond. It’s so convenient to have three restaurants right there and the food and drinks were delicious. Nice pool area, too. Wonderful staff! Highly recommend it!"

"Consider this more of a rustic camping-like experience. Cabins have screens, but bugs still come in. Incredible location! Spider monkeys were swinging above our cabin every morning, holwers start up at day break, and capuchins befriended us at the beach. Scarlett macawas everywhere, we saw them constantly, as well as toucans. The beach immediately out front is wavy and rough, but my kids still jumped in the waves daily. The highlight is San Josecito beach, a 17 minute walk along the ocean. It is a calmer bay with a reef and plenty of fish. We swam with a 4-5 foot sea turtle for half an hour. This place was deserted until noon every day. Food was excellent, fresh and traditional. They make fresh fruit juices daily! Staff are very lovely and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. It was a very memorable part of our trip and we felt fully immersed in the jungle at ocean forest."

"So many of Costa Rica’s boutique lodges in the Osa peninsula have been bought up by corporations and are remodeled to become boring and predictable with a corporate feel . They’re all the same now!!! Luna Lodge has NOT sold out. !! The lodge is still owned by its original creator and still maintains its originality , creativity , and friendly feel!! The tours were amazing especially the Corcovado trip (we saw an anteater, spider monkeys , a crocodile , countless rare birds, and squirrel monkeys). And we loved the lagoon kayaking tour . Mauro was our guide and he’s incredible and genuinely gets as excited as we did each time we spotted a new creature ! I will definitely be back and highly recommend going here - avoid the corporate owned lodges in the Osa like the plague ! Thanks to the owner and her team for giving us a memorable stay ! "

"This is a once in a lifetime stay! The property is stunningly beautiful and located deep in the heart of what feels like one of the last "untouched" parts of coastal Costa Rica. If you want a real and authentic experience that's still safe and comfortable, I can't recommend Nereus more highly. Stuart and Jenny are AMAZING and what they've built is nothing short of an oasis. "Basic hotel so not for the luxury travelers but bed was comfy and shower good. Has a patio where I could sit and watch birds in the trees. Owner very friendly- made me breakfast every day and provided rides to and from ferry and airport for a small extra fee. Great base for doing Corcovado activities "
