"Playa Cativo Lodge is a wonderful place and the accommodations, food and staff were absolutely perfect. It was nice to be so close to the gulf which was calm, warm, sandy and perfect for swimming. My only complaint was that the entire front area of the lodge has been landscaped with grass and ornamental plants, many of which are not native. Because of this large open area few birds or animals come near the lodge. Bird watching was disappointing compared to lodges that have left the rainforest...

"Beautiful wildlife eco tourism facility. Many trails and opportunities right there to view the OSA Peninsula biodiversity. Meals were fabulous. We stayed in their one concrete “hobbit house” like facility which was Charming but lacked good sir circulation to cool down for sleeping despite 2 fans. "

"Jinetes de Osa is a nice place, run by nice folks. The rooms are spacious and clean. Ours had 4 beds. The room had bars of soap, but no shampoo, conditioner or other amenities. However the biggest miss was knowledge that there are 270 steps to climb to get to the room. The view was spectacular, The restaurant, a separate business, was very good. "This hotel was beautiful, the room was large with a lovely king size 4 poster bed. We had a great view of the sunset every night from our patio or from the spectacular infiniti pool. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night and the food was very good. The included breakfast was prepared fresh to order. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. I wish we would have stayed longer! "
