"Loved this place. They had a small onsen for the women (if they had one for men I missed it bc obviously I cannot go into the men’s room). It was not tattoo friendly but they sold cover sheets to cover your tattoos and still allowed you in. They had a wonderful breakfast buffet. It is located in what seemed to be off the tourist path but the staff was very friendly. Only 40-60 minutes from Ghibli Park."

"The staff is amazing. Mari is a sweetheart and knows the area well. She will offer a suggestion for a place to eat or drink. This was my first time in a hostel. There is no kitchen, but there is a microwave. Bathrooms are clean. Beds are reasonably comfy. The area is quiet, but a short walking distance to Sakae. I have no complaints. "Having stayed at sister brand Onyado, I find that Dormy has a cheaper feel to just about everything. It feels like it is intended more for the business traveller, the quick in & out trip. Room was the smallest of the hotels I stayed in this recent Japan trip. They give free bottles of water whilst we were guests but the moment we checked out and asked for a bottle each for me and my wife for the airport bus journey, they turned us down saying it was only for guests. I literally just checked out....
