"Hotel is in desperate need of a FULL renovation, rooms are small and almost none amenities, breakfast was poor and served in a box. We stayed at room 305, the door dint close completely and we can see the light from the hallway it was disturbing to sleep. If you want to charge your mobile devices there was only one electric plug. No AC and during a hot summer night it was hard to sleep. Basically the only good thing is the location."

"This is a nice hotel, convenient to much of Porto. Best for just a couple of nights- my stay was longer and I missed having a kitchenette or way to wash clothes- not the hotel’s fault- I should have considered those things when booking. But the staff is wonderful- obviously very well-trained; the on-site restaurant is really good- and it was a very comfortable room with a fantastic shower."

"The hotel was in the heart of the old historical district of Porto. We could walk to the historical sites. It was an easy 15 minute walk down hill to the Douro River but challenging to walk back uphill."

"We had one of the modern rooms so didn’t feel the “castle” feeling in our room. The grounds and breakfast room were very beautiful though. Ours was a plain room, but overall comfortable, with heating, and pretty spacious for 3 of us. we had a few ants in the bathroom and on the beds though since our arrival.
