"I loved this hotel. Its quirky, but in a lovely way. And i was lucky to be upgraded, so i had a suite with a separate shower room and a roll top bath. The selection of wines/drinks/snacks in the room were of good quality, and whilst i did not consume, due to work commitments, i would in the future. The restaurant attached served lovely, locally sourced food at a reasonable price. And the location of the hotel meant you were walking distance into town, and 20 minutes walk from the train...

"We have stopped here a few times over the years as great for rugby weekend. new management taken over breakfast changed a lot used to get all u can eat for reasonable price now but expensive so we go out which is a shame. Apeart from that lovely stop in the oak suite."

"The room was comfortable tea and coffee facilities were fine. The bathroom was fine apart from couldn’t get any heat out of the shower, it was Stone cold. "

"Stayed here with friends many times, always a warm welcome and a great place to spend an evening/overnight. Beer is good, real fire is great, comfortable well appointed rooms, good food and wine and staff are always accommodating. Splendid breakfast as well! Will return again soon! "
