"We truly enjoyed staying at the apartment. It has a nice and spacious living area with a well equipped kitchen, proper sleeping couch for kids and upstairs a large bedroom and bathroom. The apartment overlooks the hills with olive trees and the owners will provide wood to be used in the indoor fire place or outdoor BBQ. The town of Montefrio has multiple supermarkets and Cordoba and Granada are within reasonable driving distance. The owners speak English, are very nice and will take you up the...

"Host was responsive, friendly & flexible. Lovely town, lively restaurant down the street. Make sure you have Waze to get there, it's a bit twisty & turny on back roads, but the drive out there was beautiful. A great deal."

"The hosts gave excellent written directions on how to find the farmhouse. We didn't need any GPS. They then greeted us warmly and showed us to our apartment so we could relax. They had left a fresh bowl of figs from their trees as well as coffee, milk, sugar, and excellent olive oil from their trees as well. The bedroom was large with plenty of room for all our stuff either on the dresser or in drawers. The Windows had screens as well as black out shutters for us late sleepers or nap takers....

"Casa Holmes is in a lovely little village and is impeccably clean with a completely private fantastic large pool. Lots of thoughtful touches iwhich is in a little old authentic Spanish village house . Great aircon in all bedrooms! The only SLIGHT drawbacks are that the stairs are quite steep with the last two steps being higher than others - there is a baby gate but for tiny children maybe not totally suitable - there is a handrail however. "We loved El Cortijillo and wished we had booked a longer stay. Balbino and Paulina are warm & welcoming. Afternoons lazing by the pool and evening meals on the terrace after a busy day. We couldn’t have asked for more and would love to return. Thank you!"

Good little find.

"This was a good stop while we were property hunting. Although the room was smaller than we expected, it was clean and comfortable. I loved the sofa! We hoped the restaurant would be open, but must be more for the busy season. We found old town and the architecture was wonderful, then a good walk up to the fortress. If you do nothing else, go to the fortress. They said to allow an hour and half but we were there for almost 3hrs!"

Not so good

"The beds were uncomfortable and the wife was almost hurt when she sat up and the bed tilted. The towels were like sandpaper. We had to phone someone to get in, who didnt speak anu english which I know isnt expected in their own country. Fortunately I managed. Others might not. Location was the best part of the visit."

Better than the pictures

"We stayed for ten nights and had a wonderful time. Six adults seven children and a dog. The location is stunning even more beautiful than the photographs. Air conditioning in most bedrooms and the interior rooms were cool despite 35+ temp outside. The owner was great, cleaned the pool every day before we got up and was available if we needed anything, which in the event we did not. A perfect location to relax, and also explore the surrounding area."
