"The small house is in a secluded spot with fantastic views of Castiglione and the mountains, both from the terrace as well as the bedroom. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were a really nice addition. The owners welcomed us with traditional food and wine, which was very unexpected but very welcome when we arrived in the late afternoon. They also provided us with a lot of recommendations regarding both restaurants and fun things to do in the area. We highly recommend the house and plan to be back. "

"The property is amazing, loads of space for 4 adults, comfortable and the views are fantastic. The pool was wonderful and Mirko (the property manager) was friendly and helpful. We didn’t have hot water in one of the showers at first, but he fixed the issue relatively quickly. The only downside is the track to the house. It is steep and very bumpy. We were aware of this but even so, the drive was not for the faint hearted!"

From opening the windows to the views over to the Apuan Alps first thing in the morning to watching the sun go down below the mountains in the evening, we enjoyed every day we spent here. "We loved our stay at the villa. There was plenty of room and the kids loved the pool. The hosts were helpful. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and the cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence are outstanding. The nearer towns of Barga and Castelnuovo are also very attractive. The area has recently been a center of attention on BBC with Amanda Holden, Rob Rinder and Clive Myrie. However, if you don't like heights and hairpin bends up a mountainside, this might not be the villa for you."

"Had a wonderful stay at the villa in Castiglione di Garfagnana. The villa is spacious, very clean, relaxing, and has quite a few activities to do on the property. The views overlooking the property were fantastic and the pool was great. There's also a few small football goals, darts, bocce, volleyball, and more. Communication with the owner was very good as well whenever we needed him and definitely recommend going to Il Pozzo for dinner in town one night. We couldn't walk into town...
