"The hotel was excellent however the restaurant not so good. On our first night of two the manager tried to charge us for four extra drinks and if I hadn’t pointed this out we would have been charged. In the second night we booked into the restaurant and were told that out of an already sparse choice, two were unavailable. This was put down to it being a new menu. We left and ate in town"

"We had an excellent 1 night stay at Sowell Le Chevaliers. The staff was very patient during our check in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Carcassonne. The room was clean and nicely appointed with a walkout spacious terrace. We wish we could have stayed another night. The view we had of the walled city and overlooking the river (with bird activity) was a treat."

"Excellent location very close to the walled city and with easy included parking. Easy check-in in an attractive lobby. Well appointed comfortable rooms complete with slippers and robes. Openable Windows, comfortable bed and pillows. However in our room, and especially in our bathroom, the lighting was poor and needs improvement. Also shower controls were confusing and a lack of grab bars makes showering dangerous. That said , the shower/tub design seems normal based on the many hotels we’ve...

"Perfect location. We went to Carcasson Cite every night for dinner. It is just steps from hotel. Hotel staff very nice. Food was good in their restaurant. Parking is easy. Room had little patio, but too cold now. Patio door did not lock. Never fixed. Area feels super safe, though. Cite shops cute, mostly touristy. Amorino gelato there. Good stay. "

"Perfect location close to the gates of the walled city. Easy parking once the system is explained. Enter the public car park gates at the front of hotel, park and walk to reception where the correct tickets can be obtained for parking. 15€ per night charge. Rooms are immaculate and have a small fridge and pod coffee machine. Decor is excellent and has deck access to most rooms. Good if you smoke, not if you don’t. Reception was efficient and polite.
