"I recently stayed at Hôtel de Ville in Gruyères (***) and had a fantastic experience. This charming and quaint establishment perfectly complements the historic and picturesque setting of the village. I stayed in the Edelweiss room, which was spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable—a great retreat after a day of exploring. The attention to detail in the room’s decor and amenities made for a cozy yet refined stay. The restaurant is also a standout feature of the hotel. The food was excellent, easily one of the best dining options in the village. From traditional Swiss dishes to well-executed regional specialties, every meal was a delight. Given the quality of both the hotel and the restaurant, the pricing is reasonable, especially for Switzerland. "

"Excellent location, spacious, clean room with a country feel. I loved the all-around heating stove and the beautiful heating stove from 1773 just took us back in time. If I stay in Gruyeres again I would choose this place again, for the above reasons. "

"My husband and I stayed here while visiting the area around Gruyère; it was easy enough to get to, while being nicely out of the more crowded areas—maybe 10-15 min by car for groceries, but honestly, not bad. The place was very clean and nicely equipped—no cooking oils or spices or anything like that, but pots/pans/dishes. Ideal location if you are going up the Moleson gondola! My husband didn’t like that the tub had a showering wand instead of a stand-up shower, but other than that, we were pretty happy."

"Great view from restaurant. Restaurant was expensive and also the in room mini bar. Not a good restaurant for picky eaters. Lots of flies during our visit. Would not recommend rooms facing the road. Odd electrical outlets requiring a specific plug. Yes, it’s the 240 European outlet, but the round plug doesn’t fit. It must be the slim two prong plug. Hotel shares parking lot with gas station and car dealership but didn’t have a problem parking. What the hotel lacked the scenery made up for. "
