"Cosy and comfortable. Decent bedding and excellent duvet. Really nice breakast. The bathroom safety rails should be replaced as very rusty but plenty of hot water. Overall very clean, only let down by the rusty rails in the bathroom. Wouldnt put me off staying again, it was so peaceful and comfortable."

"The property was clean and tastefully decorated. Our room was spacious and had a sitting area with a sofa. The bed was really comfortable and the bed linen and towels were very high quality. We ordered our breakfast the night before and it was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The host was friendly and helpful. "

"I went to book into the hotel and it was closed, dark and empty. I tried to contact them on both numbers provided. Nothing. No answer, no call back. I tried all day and it was so frustrating and worrying as we had no idea where we were going to sleep that night. I left it until 5pm and then found another place to stay. "The place is under new management who offered a warm welcome, a clean room, done up the place as best they could. The place still has a few issues from being taken over eg shower not draining well and a new mattress due but the new team are trying hard to make a go of it and are trying to make good."

"The owners were very friendly; greeting you on arrival and showing you to your room, which was comfortable, clean and tidy. It had a decent view over Torquay, not the see but the town itself, quite a pretty place to look out at. Parking area is small but plenty adequate if you take time and care to go into a space. The bed was made daily (something most hotels don't do now) and a nice touch was the bottle of water by the bed in case you needed a drink in the night. Plenty of storage to pack...

"We had a warm welcome at Watermead House. Having booked very late, our room was on the top floor. It was extremely comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities, a large screen television and a spacious shower. We found it lovely and quiet. We appreciated the advice on local restaurants which were a short walk away. Breakfast was exceptional, ordered the evening before from a wide selection so no delay and very tasty. "
