"The room was very large and clean, beds were comfortable and Rudi is a very knowledgeable host. The family room had a nice selection of teas and delicious ground coffee for the french press with fresh milk as well. Lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy the sea view while having a drink. The owners have 2 friendly pugs but you don't hear them while in the room."

"The lofts was a great hotel to base part of our honeymoon at. We were given an upgrade upon arrival and were made to feel special by the hotel. Food is amazing, both breakfast and dinner! Make sure you stay here if in Knysna! "

"Great view from the balcony to the ocean. Even it's loud, you won't here the sound of the sea while sleeping. Very clean and quiet, beach is not far away and also the drive to Knynsa doesn't take too long. Hope to be there again any time"

"This must be the best place to stay in Knysna. I agonized about whether to stay here or closer in town and I definitely made the right choice. Everyone in ZA seems nice but the St James is beyond nice. It really is lovely to come back to a place where people go above and beyond. Great breakfast overlooking the water without the crowd. Nice place to have a cocktail after dinner. Huge room with great views. Private, safe parking area. I never even used the beautiful boat which other guests took advantage of. Enjoy!"

"We booked Roseroc for one night at the last minute based on reviews and we were NOT disappointed. Kevin, our genial host is a mine of information. He suggested a great restaurant you could walk to although we drove and other interesting things to do.The breakfast was fantastic. We recommend the "Roseroc" poached egg. I will try to recreate this at home. We would not hesitate to recommend Roseroc. I'm not sure quite how my wife found this little gem nestled away but she must be amazing too."

"The stay was disappointing for a 4-star hotel and felt overpriced for the value and service you get. The sharp mildew smell from the kitchenette basin table top in the bedroom amd the closet behind the shower was unbearable. It seems the aircon also leaks onto the wood. The front door handle was loose as if broken before, which made us uneasy with the intense website warning of potential trespassers. Security at the entrance gate was very friendly, but didn't once scan/record a driver's/car license. Alot of the lady staff have attitude and should go on a friendliness / hospitality etiquette course. "
