"Lavender Lodge is a comfortable home away from home in a wonderfully quiet and private location. Even though next to the owners house, the lodge orientated to be nicely private with barely another property in sight. It contained everything needed for a comfortable stay and the bed is big enough to party in (also good for sleeping). The two friendly spaniels peering through the window to say hello were a bonus too."

"On a council estate - 9 rooms in a what was a 2/3 bedroom house - room like a prison cell, dirty carpet, dust and cup marks on desk - looks like u stand in the toilet shower....I'm not joking - full of students - room adjoins the kitchen / dining area and below the stairs - with washing machine next to room on all night... Positive thing ......I think the sheets are clean and wifi is ok..don't know where the reviews came ?"

"If this was my local pub, I’d be happy - lovely staff, friendly clientele, a fine dog and the food is acceptable ‘pub grub’ however.... the stay in ‘family room’ was not good. The room was upstairs in the pub and initially no key supplied as ‘nobody goes up here’. The room was akin to a store room with a couple of beds chucked in. There was an oversized old armchair blocking a chunk of room and a huge wardrobe which you couldn’t use as it was stuffed with Christmas decorations and a skeleton...
