"We had a lovely short stay at The Talbot. Rooms were clean and spacious, equipped with all the facilities needed for an overnight stay. The bedside book by local author was a lovely touch. The breakfast was extensive, and plenty of options for vegetarian and vegan guests. It would have been nice to have a vegan pastry option but great that a full vegan breakfast and condiments were on the menu. Waiting and reception staff were polite, kind and extremely helpful. My only complaint was that the bed in my room was uncomfortable (this wasn't the case for other guests). The mattress seemed lumpy and the bed base could be felt through the mattress, meaning I had a poor night's sleep. Aside from this, I could not fault the hotel staff and facilities, hence the 5 star review. Thank you for a very pleasant stay! "

"This hotel overlooks Rutland Reservoir and had some amazing views. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had afternoon tea in the Blossoms which was tasty and filling. And the breakfast was amazing, literally everything you could want. The only problem we had was, we booked a "cozy" double, their cheapest room, which was in the eaves and had slanted ceilings and unfortunately the placement of the shower meant neither me (5 foot 10) or my hubby (6 foot 2) could stand up in it."

"We had room 605, it was very big with a big bathroom and jacuzzi style bath. Radiator wasnt working but there was a heater on the wall which we needed to turn up as it was cold, once it kicked in the room was toasty. Bed was very comfortable and huge, super king I'd guess. Pool was lovely, as was jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were not hot enough, that was my only negative comment about my stay."

"Our first visit for a wedding. Booked classic room with breakfast. Room was spacious and lovely and warm. Hospitality tray included tea, coffee, hot chocolate and packs of biscuits. Bathroom very clean and looked modern. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Will visit again in warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor area by the river. Thoroughly recommend this hotel."
