"Villa Roccia is great. Beach just across the road was fabulous for late evening walks…but the pool and hot tub area was the star of the holiday. The village has a couple of grocery shops with a wonderful boulangerie too. Everyone was friendly, especially the host, Carine. Wonderful holiday. Long drive from uk but French roads and drivers are so much calmer than uk, so it was stress free from Calais."

La plage de St Froult est à proximité de la maison idéal pour les châteaux de sable. Pour des vacances reposantes et en toute tranquillité cette maison est idéale. Les hôtes sont très agréables. "Amazing house with big grounds, pool, hot tub. The property was spotless on arrival and we had a thorough tour from the pleasant owner. Kitchen had everything we needed, communal living area was spacious, big TV. Beds were made up and comfortable. Pool is heated and deep - it stayed warm and crystal clear for the whole week. The small town is a short walk for fresh bread every morning, and there was plenty to do in the area (when we could drag ourselves away from the pool). Excellent all round."

"This was the second time we have stayed in this property. The standard of the accommodation is excellent, comfortable and very close to amenities. The view is probably the best you could ask for, sea, beach, wonderful sunsets. One of our favourites was watching the sailing school children go out on to the water."

"Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Estelle und Jerome sind wunderbare Gastgeber. Es gibt überhaupt nichts zu bemängeln, im Gegenteil ... vieles ist besonders hervorzuheben. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet, was eine Familie benötigt, die Einrichtung modern und stilvoll, der Außenbereich mit Pool gepflegt und gemütlich und vieles mehr. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder."

We have two little boys meaning we wanted a secure and safe environment. The boys loved the pool which was secure meaning we didn’t have to worry about them getting into it. "What a spot! These brand new condos are in a pretty sprawling complex that is walking distance to the beach. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen functional and well stocked. The only strange thing about the place is that there are great 2 shower en-suites but only one toilet that looks like an afterthought in a laundry room - very bizarre. All in all a great spot, though, would recommend."

What a great find

"Lovely hotel in a really good location, the room was wonderful very comfortable bed with a little balcony with a good view over the grounds. The restaurant was amazing with really good service and delicious food, only stayed one night on my way to spain for the weekend and will be staying there again on my return."

Nice new building.

"Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Ideal for overnight stay, staff very polite and helpful. New building 2023 modern decor excellent bathroom with large shower head. Window in bedroom was large but no way to keep it open just a little for fresh air. Would stay again and recommend it to others."

Ibis Styles La Rochelle Thalasso Châtelaillon

"This was our first stay and we really enjoyed it. We had a double and pullout / sofa bed. The air conditioning was very effective and the room very quiet. The swimming pool facilities are fantastic and a real highlight of a stay. We'd have appreciated longer hours for our kid to be able to use the indoor pool (perhaps lunchtime when the pool is a lot emptier). I'd suggest relaxing the hours in off-season also. Breakfast was satisfactory. We also enjoyed using the ping pong table. It's located about a 30 mins walk from centre of Chatelaillon / train station and we walked it. There is a bus stop outside the hotel that takes you all the way to La Rochelle. All in all, we intend to return next year. "
