"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around. The spa was good to have—the indoor pool, Swedish sauna, and outdoor vitality pool made for a nice way to unwind, and the thermal rooms were a nice touch. "Second receptionist warmer than 1st. Maybe the offer of calling us when the room was ready instead of asking us to call to see if the room was ready would have been more efficient/going the extra mile. Food was lovely, lovely village location. Shame the sewage works was going on whilst we visited but not hotels fault. Don’t agree with the service charge automatically being put on the food bill, food was lovely but not cheap and then 10% charge on top for serving two people. To be fair...

"We and a group of friends enjoyed a one night stay at the Feathers in February 2025. We occupied room 216 which overlooks the high st. The room was on the small side but was comfortably furnished and the bathroom was a good size and had been recently refurbished and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and we were able to sleep with the window open. The common areas of the hotel are attractive and there is a cozy lounge and bar. Breakfast was good.
