"The room was as you would expect for the money. The major disappointment was the lack of a blind for the skylight which meant the room was very light until quite late and then again from early, a nightmare for trying to get children to sleep."

It was in a lovely village, with pleasant people in the coffee shops, and a nice walk near the church with a river and horses in a field. only a few minutes away from Castleton too."

"Stayed 2 nights in Feb. Very comfortable bed and well presented room. The Inn itself was quiet and so lacked a little atmosphere but then it was mid-week. The food was excellent, I especially liked the salmon and the mushroom risotto was splendid. We would have eaten there again on the second night but the vegetarian options were limited. I'm sure the chef would have come up with something suitable but we wanted to explore other eating options locally anyway. Breakfast was plentiful and the bar...

Sat in bar after meal on some lovely leather sofas with a beer chatting with other residents. Bed was very comfortable and slept well. Breakfast great- perfect fuel for a day of hiking.
