"We were amazed by the view and the location of the property, however a little disappointed in the renovations… the bathrooms need some attention with plumbing. Super inconvenient with zero towel hooks- the one decorative towel wrack is a menace and in the way. They give you 2 towels and they are thin and rough. "The room was nice with a little kitchenette equipped with utensils, which we used to make breakfast. Was great since they did not provide breakfast. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The main strip (Ocean Ave.) was just a couple blocks away and a nice walk to the beach. Briarwood is PET FRIENDLY! The only criticism I would have about our room was the shower. It is very cramped. Other than that, this place GOOD!"

"We liked everything about this classic, updated motel. Service was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. We had a standard, amply-sized room with a fireplace as a bonus, at an affordable rate. Feels like a mid-century California coastal motel, in a row of similar places down the road. It was a little bit of a walk, not terrible, to the downtown and Cannery Row locations. We walked throughout of our 3-day stay without trouble. We'd stay at the Arbor Inn again to visit lovely Monterey."
