"Pristine can mean several different things. My interpretation was to be “like new”. This dwelling did not quite live up to that standard, but was clean, sans the “mud room” and what appeared to be mold on the peak of the ceiling above the living room. The original listing stated firewood was provided by the host. Then, the checkin instructions stated guests provided their own. Not huge, just misstated in the listing (since changed). "The house was perfect for us. Spacious, clean, comfortable. Beds comfortable. Bathrooms really nice. The road in the development is dirt, a 4wd is needed as stated. It was muddy and rutty on arrival, then snow and ice , but do-able. Great house. Would recommend "

"The house was small, cozy and even had a small stream that ran through the backyard and under the deck. It had everything we needed. A bigger TV in the living room but definitely be a big upgrade but that isn't the end of the world. Would stay here again. "

Spacious house with lots of places to gather or spread out. Beautiful setting—snow covered frozen lake. We would love to return in warm weather to make use of the lakefront. "We had a wonderful stay at this cozy private retreat and hope we get to come back. The canton was as advertised- very private with a beautiful view across a wide (and for us, snowy!) yard and into trees, large wonderful fireplace, kitchen with everything we needed, and comfy bed. While the place is private it is also an easy short drive to lots of good local stuff, like hiking, groceries, and nice dinners out in Lenox, etc. The hosts were very responsive but not obtrusive! A perfect getaway. "

"Unfortunately, my group and I wasn't able to stay at the octagon house due to flooding. We got a very timely message on Friday before our check in time informing us of the situation. The property owner was able to offer us a stay at a similar property in the area and things were all set within 15 minutes or less! The lake house was absolutely gorgeous and we had a blast! We'll definitely be going back in the summer. Thank you for being so flexible with planning as well. I'll be recommending...
