Difficult to open windows and the rooms are accessible from the back of the pub so you have to go outside if you want to go to the pub which isn’t ideal if it’s cold/rainy. "We stayed for one night, we could not fault a thing, the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble, beautiful and clean throughout, we had an evening meal which was absolutely amazing, such reasonable a reasonable price, and the portions were huge! We stayed in the Bolton room which was very clean and comfortable, there was plenty of tea and coffee,and some lovely toiletries to ise too, luxury towels and bedding too. "Lovely spacious room. Comfy bed. No one on reception when we got there on Friday Dec 27th but after ringing a phone number and leaving a message we were greeted by the owners son. We were asked if we wanted a meal that night or breakfast in the morning which we didnt need. It would have been nice to visit the bar on Friday pm but we found it closed at 9:45pm when we tried to visit it. Maybe it would be open later a different day or in the summer. A pleasant stay if you want to stay in your room."

"Excellent customer service with staff who were immaculate in their personal presentation - sadly lacking in hospitatlity generally. Warm and cosy on an extremely cold night - breakfast excellent and we asked to be served quickly as we had to leave to get to an appointment - which was dealt with efficiently and with a smile"

"The rooms are basic, and as a repeat customer I know this. No shower in this particular room, but a large bath. Biggest issue - room was freezing with no way to tweak heating. No iron in the room either. "
