"Loved Le Ferme Aux Chats. Only saw one cat, and one very friendly dog. The owner is lovely, and very helpful and knowledgeable about the WWII sites/mist-sees. The breakfasts were lovely and delicious with home made baked goods and marmelades. We will return one day! "

"Amazing place! So glad we chose to stay here away from the towns. We were still really close to Caen, Bayeux, and the WWII sites and even Mont St Michel! since we rented a car. They also upgraded our room to the deluxe! It was very spacious with amazing views from both windows. Highly recommend everyone to consider this hotel during their stay in Normandy. Oh and they also have like 5 kitties that stay at the place that are very friendly! Definitely a bonus for this cat lover 😅"

"Our five night stay in this beautiful chateau was a delight. It is set in lovely countryside and is very quiet and peaceful. It is an excellent base for exploring northern Normandy. We drove to Mont St.Michel, Bayeux etc from here. You really do need a vehicle to get around. A few restaurants are 10 mins or so away in the local village. A delightful breakfast was provided by our host Cecilia who was so welcoming, informative and patient with my efforts to speak French. Breakfast consisted of the most amazing pastries I've ever had (and I've had quite a few), bread, jam, cheese, yoghurt - all produced a stones throw away. The room was lovely, extremely clean (and I am a bit OCD) and our daughter had a little separate bedroom next to ours which I didn't realise when I booked it but it was great and she loved it. No TV but that was fine for me (I think my other half missed it though) and lots of information on local restaurants and places to go/things to do. If we were to visit again, we would consider staying in a cottage where we would be able to rustle up some dinner. NB. I think there are some old photos of this chateau on some of the holiday websites - ignore them. The room we had (?The Angels) was a delight, spacious and modernised where necessary - shower, sink and cabinet etc but still retaining the stunning original features - doors and floors etc."

"We had a lovely stay here for 10 days which felt very much like a home from home. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean, well equipped and felt safe and secure in a small village Baudre. We visited all the Normandy landing beaches, the American Cemetery, Overload and D-Day Experience museums, Pointe de Hoc, Maisy battery, Pegasus Bridge and Caretan which were all 35 to 60 mins drive. We didn't make it to Mont St Michel. There were no real facilities in the hamlet but St Lo was only 5 minutes drive away with multiple supermarkets and a huge Decathlon. We used the table-tennis table and made good use of Netflix on a couple of rainy days. The GR221 footpath runs past the house so we enjoyed some runs and walks down to and along the river La Vire. Gerard the owner was super responsive when we had some questions and checked in to make sure we were ok. Thank you Gerard. "
