"Didnt have my booking on the system, appeared to give me the reserve room that they use for last case scenarios. The stairwell ran diagonally above the bed so every time someone walked up the stairs it boomed through just above your head. Hidden charges for using the gym. Main reception in a different building. Free parking was the only decent part. "

"The staff at the Boot and Shoe were lovely - they were friendly and helpful during our stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. The staff were really apologetic and gave us a complimentary round of drinks to make up for this. The room itself was fine. The bed was ok and the room was clean. "We stayed here on a long weekend with the family and dogs - everything we could have asked for - good location with the Langdales just up the road (easy parking, pay and display), does packed lunches which were superb, very good evening food, good bar and lovely staff who were attentive, very friendly and helpful. Bus stop opposite to Ambleside and also up to the Langadales for those with no car"
