"Access to the lake was a 3 minute walk. Short drive to Te Anau. Requested a two bed room - given a one bed. When we changed to a two bed room there wasn’t a pillow for one bed. No tee towel or dish cloth. Small table needed a good cleaning. "

"We weren't at Bella Vista long, but we desperately needed a soft spot to land after big travel days and this accommodated all of our needs! The room was clean and well stocked. The sliding glass doors are a nice touch as well. It was incredibly quiet which allowed for a great night's rest. We'd definitely stay there again! "

"The property has various types of lodging facilities - from rooms, to cottages to apartments and caravan park. There is no breakfast per se. The location is great - around 5 minutes drive from the city center. You can also walk for around 10-15 mins to be there. The city center has quite a few restaurants and eating options. Self parking withing the property is very convenient and fast. Would stay here again for sure !!"

"The property is a little dated but it was clean and quiet. Reception is not always staffed however when I rang about leaving my bag because I was arriving early I was advised to leave my bag at the Village Inn. When I returned to check in Teddy offered to drive me to the Alpenhorn Motel, so going over and beyond. At the end of my stay Teddy was extremely helpful and offered to drive me to the bus stop. Thanks a million. "

The kitchen was poorly equipped, e.g. no frying pan, strainer, bowls, sharp knife, or wooden spoon. The place was very spacious and clean. I found the bed comfy. TV with Netflix. I think you can expect more given the rate. "

"The property was clean and tidy during our stay. There are basic kitchen utensils if you need to cook a simple meal. A new shower has also been installed since the last review. "Ida Cottage was perfect. Beautifully renovated house at the end of a cul de sac overlooking paddocks and sheep with views to the mountains. Walking distance to the supermarket and cafe. Duncan has thought of everything a guest might need - comfortable beds with high quality linen, masses of fluffy towels, well appointed kitchen. Fast WiFi, efficient A/C and heating. We loved it. Perfect for two people as a base to fish the surrounding rivers and explore Mavora Lakes. "
