"We spent three fabulous days here in June/July 2024. The property itself is beautiful and in a spectacular setting. Communication with the owner was very smooth. The location is ideal for exploring the Shenandoah area and we enjoyed driving the Skyline Drive, a visit to Luray caverns and kayaking on the Shenandoah river. We came back in the evenings to eat out on the deck followed by relaxing in the hot tub and watching the spectacular sunsets. Very special memories made, totally recommended."

Hiking and the national park were a reasonable drive. The town of Elkton was great with small shops and restaurants as well as anything needed like groceries. James was an excellent host. "We loved the great-room just off the dining/kitchen area, as well as the boat dock for lounging and kayaking. Used the patio for grilling and campfire with s'mores. The location at the north end of the lake is a convenient launching point for area attractions. Couldn't really use the spare sitting room as a bedroom, but fortunately we didn't need it. Had a few minor issues, but the owner/host was very responsive. "

"This is a great place to stay if you want to hide out in the woods for a weekend and go for a hike or two. The house itself was small but comfortable for four people and worked perfectly. We walked to the White Oak Canyon Trail and loved the hike. It was amazing to not have to drive up like I have so many times.
