"Key card was only activated for two night stay by mistake and we got back from a long hike to not be able to access our room and reception was not manned. It was soon sorted but a bit of a pain. A bit of a lack of plug sockets but just adequate. "

"Lovely clean place, lovely staff and away from the street sounds. But the stairs to my room were really steep and the mattress was the old spring type. I just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep on it. I managed to put my pillows in a line to sleep a bit. The weather was perfectly cool even with the late afternoon rain. For transportation, walk to the City Central and get a taxi there because It's cheaper that way. (No Uber so far away from city). I had a lovely short stay. "

"The complex was serene! Felt nice to have our own space with outdoor space as well. It felt like we were in our own little villa. Was able to even see wild animals within the property itself! Also met one of the owners and he was very friendly. The only downside is that the roads getting to the property are very rough so a AWD car is recommended"

"We booked using reviews on hotels.com as a bit of a guide and I definitely wouldn’t rate a 9/10. I’d give it a 6/10. Staff was friendly, banana bread was delicious, and the view was beautiful. Upon our arrival, there was a hair wad in the toilet, sheets felt like paper, beds were uncomfortable, and there was no heat/ac or even a fan in the rooms. Road to the property was terrible, but we knew that ahead of time. Just a meh stay. "

"Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature. Lots of monkeys, and beautiful birdwatching. 253 steps down to a secluded beach where we had breakfast and we’re given various choices of cuisine. Isla Tortuga was awesome with Juan as a guide. We saw so many different types of animals, including spider, monkeys, incredible starfish, and sharks. If you have the...

"Our room was basically made out of wood, and the balcony looked over the mountains. We loved that! We had a beautiful sunset. There was an excellent restaurant within walking distance with gluten free options. The breakfast was large and tasty. Couldn't ask for anything more."

"It was a good stay. They provided transportation to cloud forest and Manuel Antonio. Clean property with basics. Lots of eating places and coffee stores walkable. "

"The staff, breakfast, and location were great, and the nearby capuchin monkeys and wildlife were delightful. But… a hotel has one main job to do: provide a comfortable bed and pillow for a good night’s rest. Our three-night stay wasn’t great. Bed and pillows didn’t cut it. We liked the help with getting transportation and an excursion to the Cloud Forest Reserve, but we were always dreading the night’s sleep. If you’re going to drive all the way to Monteverde, stay somewhere more comfortable."

"We stayed two nights and I wish we had booked more time there. Wildlife Paradise is at the end of a 2-km rough road east and uphill from the San Luis school, but it is well worth the drive. You don't need 4-wheel drive but you do need a short wheel-base 2-wd. This property is more like a two-room bed and breakfast. It's main advantage is that it is off-the-beaten path and is surrounded by rain forest. You won't see the crowds of people that make a Monteverde visit challenging these days. Many...
