"I enjoyed walking the trail at this property. The view was amazing. We enjoyed the happy hour and dinner . Breakfast was great too. I also like the fact that the butterfly garden is next to the hotel. "

"Nicely appointed corner room but on the cooler side on very windy evenings. We ate in the dining room all three evenings of our stay and the food and service was excellent. All staff very friendly and helpful. "

"This family owned place is awesome!! We were very late getting to the hotel due to mudslides in La Fortuna. We were really tired when we got there. They brought us dinner to our room. They even fixed a flat tire for me. Very clean place and they are very accomodating to whatever you need. They have no ACbut with the windows abd door open there us enough breeze to cool your room. Cant say enough goos things about our time there."

"This was our family’s second time staying here and we hope to come back again and again! Tracy and her family are amazing hosts with so much local knowledge and a real love of the area. The cabins are very clean and have everything you need and the property is beautiful with so much greenery and a short trail that runs around the property. The breakfast is extra but we totally recommend it, there were lots of options and everything was delicious. "

"Key card was only activated for two night stay by mistake and we got back from a long hike to not be able to access our room and reception was not manned. It was soon sorted but a bit of a pain. A bit of a lack of plug sockets but just adequate. "

"Lovely clean place, lovely staff and away from the street sounds. But the stairs to my room were really steep and the mattress was the old spring type. I just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep on it. I managed to put my pillows in a line to sleep a bit. The weather was perfectly cool even with the late afternoon rain. For transportation, walk to the City Central and get a taxi there because It's cheaper that way. (No Uber so far away from city). I had a lovely short stay. "

"We booked using reviews on hotels.com as a bit of a guide and I definitely wouldn’t rate a 9/10. I’d give it a 6/10. Staff was friendly, banana bread was delicious, and the view was beautiful. Upon our arrival, there was a hair wad in the toilet, sheets felt like paper, beds were uncomfortable, and there was no heat/ac or even a fan in the rooms. Road to the property was terrible, but we knew that ahead of time. Just a meh stay. "

"It was a good stay. They provided transportation to cloud forest and Manuel Antonio. Clean property with basics. Lots of eating places and coffee stores walkable. "

"Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature. Lots of monkeys, and beautiful birdwatching. 253 steps down to a secluded beach where we had breakfast and we’re given various choices of cuisine. Isla Tortuga was awesome with Juan as a guide. "Our room was basically made out of wood, and the balcony looked over the mountains. We loved that! We had a beautiful sunset. There was an excellent restaurant within walking distance with gluten free options. The breakfast was large and tasty. Couldn't ask for anything more."

"The staff, breakfast, and location were great, and the nearby capuchin monkeys and wildlife were delightful. But… a hotel has one main job to do: provide a comfortable bed and pillow for a good night’s rest. Our three-night stay wasn’t great. Bed and pillows didn’t cut it. We liked the help with getting transportation and an excursion to the Cloud Forest Reserve, but we were always dreading the night’s sleep. If you’re going to drive all the way to Monteverde, stay somewhere more comfortable."

"The property is beautiful with some trails to hike. Plus, they continuously feed the birds so there are beautiful birds around frequently. "

"Location is great. Facilities are great. Front desk great. Felt that hot water did not last sufficiently long for a family of 4. Had golf cart parked on our parking space and when we tried driving around it to get to our unit we scratched car on the hedges which is unfortunate as it is a rental car. Some issues with bugs getting into the house which we had to remove as one of the members in our family was bug phobic. "

An ideal place to visit the Cloud Forest

"I stayed for 3 nights at Selina and my experience was wonderful! The hotel had a lovely, clean room and the hotel grounds were lush, beautiful and green. Getting around by foot is a bit difficult given how remote the hotel is but you are across the street from a shuttle that can take you directly to the cloud forest, the hotel has a transit stop outside of it and the hotel can provide you with a reliable, safe ride share option. There is also a restaurant on site where you can get very good food conveniently. Hotel staff can also help you book tours in Monteverde. We took the Night Walk Tour and it was so fun! "
