Granted, it is an old building, but it’s full of character, and while perhaps the water pressure isn’t as enthusiastic as some may like, there’s no rush, it’s easy to relax at The Old Rectory. "

"This was our second stay here. The hotel has a very scenic and peaceful location whilst being easily reached on good roads. There is plenty to do nearby if you want it but we go for the views and to walk by the Solway Firth. The hotel is well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. Special mention for Lisa from the restaurant who recognised us from our previous visit - which was years ago! Impressive. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and was delicious. Dinner was excellent and a good variety to choose from. We didn't manage a sweet but heard them praised by other diners. Proper coffee machine in the room too (I don't drink instant). Decent size tv but we couldn't get many channels as signal seemed weak but that's a minor quibble. All being well we will be back!"

"It is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of Annan. The staff were very friendly and responsive to any needs. The full Scottish breakfast was delightful, and we were pleased to find good options for my Vegan wife. Parking options were good, with the car park right behind the hotel and another right across the road. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area."

"The stay was beautiful and relaxing, outside the window had beautiful rolling fields with plenty of cows in, dogs greeted us when we arrived Bie and Best, it was brilliant. Alison made us feel so welcome and relaxed and the breakfast was made to order and fantastic! "

"No food, no bar, not very clean. Breakfast was dreadful. Manager was friendly when you could get a hold of him. Nice location. Very noisy from next room. Comfy bed. Nice view. "

"The accommodation was as described and a very comfortable stay, despite the typical Scottish weather. If you are looking just for somewhere to lay your head and chill this is ideal! There isn’t anything on the site to do, the restaurant and bar was a bit of a let down to the waiting time and staffing issues"
