"I stayed at Bucholz Downtown Hotel during my recent visit to Cologne for the Christmas Markets. The hotel is very conveniently located near the HBF and near the walking path along the river. The hotel breakfast was very nice...not extensive but a nice way to start you day and served by a friendly staff. The hotel is older and a bit dated but clean with good mechanicals. I am a solo female traveler...the street was a bit dark for me at night when walking alone. Also, the hotel desk is not...

"Location is excellent. Within a very short walk to the station and all the sights. Spacious room with private bathroom and kitchenette. Downside is there is no lift in the building. We would however stay there again."

"Overall a nice place in a great location! Corridors are a little creepy and the elevator is tiny but it’s a small hotel so not a problem! Did get woken up by a cleaner/staff banging on the door at 10am without requesting a wake up call but room was clean, modern and safe!"
