"A perfect stay for our family of 5 (three under 4). The accommodation was stylish in a lovely understated way and the interconnecting room was perfect for us, with two singles next door. "Weekend stay at Thornbury Castle. Fascinating, historic castle. We really enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast likewise. Our room was at the top of its own tower, with a fantastic bathroom. Great shower, although a bath would have been nice. The public rooms are amazing, with lots of character. Bit cold this weekend, but it was snowing outside."

"This was the third time we had stayed at the Aztec and we had a fantastic experience. I booked the stay for my wife’s birthday which included the additional access to the spa and a massage. We also booked dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. My wife has very specific dietary requirements and these were all catered for by the Aztec’s wonderful staff. "Room clean and recently refurbished but very small and no room to put anything anywhere. Nice shower but too powerful for the bathroom as water sprays onto the floor and makes it slippy … there is a notice warning of this in the bathroom. For the price it’s fine for a night but wouldn’t want to be in that size of room for much longer. "

"This place is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". The outside makes you think about turning around and trying somewhere else! Don't... The staff are wonderful. The rooms are a very good standard for the price, and there's a very decent bar with Sky Sports, or hideaways if you prefer. "The room was just as shown on the photos. I had seen some negative reviews so had some apprehension, but there were no problems on our visit. Comfortable beds, hot water, good heating, reasonable carpet; 24/7 Asda shop and other facilities at the service station. No fridge or cooking facilities, but I took a microwave and had no problems.
